ISTANBUL AIRPOT

Istanbul Airport is the largest airport in the world today but not in a few years later it is said that there will be Beijing Airport which will be named the biggest airport. This airport was inaugurated on 29 October 2018 With an area of up to 149,000 square meters, the airport is designed to be able to accommodate up to 200 million passengers. The amount is almost double the capacity of the busiest airport in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, The building design was handled by a London-based firm, Grimshaw in collaboration with Haptic Architects and the Nordic Office of Architecture. His inspiration was picked from the Süleymaniye Mosque with a geometric patterned ceiling mirroring the Louvre Abu Dhabi to maximize natural light penetration. Not only is the design attractive, the airport also houses a control tower built to resemble a tulip, a transit terminal in the shape of the Bosphorus Strait, and a bazaar-free excise-shopping complex. Committed to being one of the most environmentally friendly airports, a sophisticated system is embedded in Istanbul's New Airport to reduce water use by 40 percent and cut energy consumption by 21 percent compared to ordinary airports
